MUD 5.0: Art Week Program

Curated by composer and multimedia artist José Hernández Sánchez, the event will feature performances by artists who work with sound and visuals, including Richard Garet, Ted Coffey, Richard Vergez, and José Hernández Sánchez. Los Angeles based composer and sound designer Martín Carrillo will be in charge of audio engineering for the event.

Media Under Dystopia WISPer edition: a public XR metaverse, is expanding the use of extended realities (XR) to connect diverse artists, communities, and educational institutions within a web XR ecosystem: The MUD Verse. Through workshops, eTalks, and our XRLab, we aim to establish a hands-on center for those artists and organizations who actively participate or desire to be part of the exciting future of XR and its positive impact in art, education, and beyond.

The MUD Foundation is kicking off the Fall XR CAMP ART+TECH in Miami, a transformative educational experience centered around 3D Design and Extended Reality (XR) technologies. Over three months, participants will journey from the fundamentals of 3D space, 3D objects, and coordinates to hands-on exploration with software like Tinkercad, Blender, Fusion 360 Generative Design, and MUD Verse XR platform.

The new edition of Media Under Dystopia 3.0: WASD will display artworks created by visual artists using the internet as a creative medium. The first iteration of Media Under Dystopia 1.0 introduced the audience to a conversation around art, its relationship to digital culture, and the internet. Media Under Dystopia 1.0 delves on the nature of our hyper-connected society and its promise of democracy and liberty, at a moment when its core foundation is at risk and issues such as Internet Neutrality are under attack. How are individuals, as well as local contexts with their specific histories and politics, represented and served within the digital landscape? How can the physical and digital infrastructures of the Internet be mapped and what do these new cartographies tell us about today?
