Los Angeles Stage Alliance Ovation Award winner for Sound design in 2004 and 2007, Martín Carrillo has composed music and designed sound environments in a number of contexts and formats since 1996. Sound serves as a conduit for semiotics and the continual repair of social fabrics in both context and meaning. Carrillo engages with applied audio and sound physics to establish frameworks for communication and the contextual expression of language. This extends beyond language, encompassing music, sound, and noise, as well as the intelligibility of our choices. Through this, we expand our comprehension of one another, the body politic, the social (dis)order, and the enthalpy/entropy of our (im)measurable world.
